About the exhibition
Situated between sculpture and painting, between support and surface, they unfold a unique visual language where tension and fluidity coexist.
Surpassing sculpture, these pieces assert their presence, animated by an intrinsic vitality. Burgos’ artistic journey began with the appropriation of everyday, pre-designed objects before evolving into the creation of autonomous forms in fiberglass and resin. These materials capture a state of suspension—a paradox between stillness and latent energy that gives Burgos’ works a distinctive and independent dynamism.
NOTE
Each piece emerges from a dialogue between control and chance, where curves, folds, and hollows take shape through chemical reactions. In Burgos’ work, form and color do not oppose but rather merge. Color reveals the structure, while structure guides the color.
Painting is an autonomous language. Each surface becomes the journal of an event, a space where visual and material interactions unfold. Thus, an initial sculptural gesture may serve as the starting point for a pictorial composition, with each medium nourishing and influencing the other.
